Following the death of COPS co-founder Jim McNulty , a considerable sum of money was donated to the charity in his memory. This money has been kept separate from the general funds, while the trustees debated how best to use it.
A decision has now been made.
One of Jim's great passions was driving. He had been an instructor at the police driving school, and was a nationally recognised expert witness for car crime.
We therefore take great pride in announcing that from 1st June 2006, COPS will pay for each surviving child to have ten driving lessons, courtesy of the Jim McNulty Memorial Fund .
The child must turn 17 years of age after the 1st June 2006, and lessons must be taken between the ages of 17 and 21 years. Lessons can be taken with a driving school of your choice, but BSM have kindly agreed to give 10% off the price for any lessons which we book with them on a pupil's behalf.
