Stockton Coffee Morning 30 June 2012

Residents of Stockton turned out to help raise funds for COPS recently at a coffee morning organised by local councillors Carol and Michael Clark.

Carol and Michael who represent the Grangefield ward hold a charity event every six weeks and their efforts helped raise £138 for COPS.

Carol said: ``We find it is a great way of bringing the community together and helping a good cause. It is easy to forget how much we all rely on the police and the sacrifices they and their families make so we wanted to show our support for COPS.``

Also showing his support for COPS was Barry Coppinger who has been chosen as Labour candidate for the post of Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner.

Barry (left) pictured here with Michael and a local resident, said: "Police officers daily take risks and face the kind of situations that mercifully few of us will ever encounter. It is really important we show our support for them and their families."
